In order to customize the right technique for each person Dr. Jeremy Brook studied with several chiropractic masters. The list below is a brief explanation of the techniques he uses to adjust and correct one’s subluxations.

PALMER METHOD

This will involve any of a number of specific adjusting techniques, such as full spine, gonstead, & HIO, with the addition of a philosophy which emphasizes the role of the Innate Intelligence of the body in the healing process. It will not utilize any therapy other than hand adjustment.

THOMPSON

A specific technique for adjustment of the full spine on a special table which has a slight drop in the cushions to improve the effectiveness of the adjustment without as much force into the patient.

GONSTEAD

A specific method for full spine adjusting utilizing the use of full spine x-rays to locate spinal mis-alignments.

HIO — hole in one AKA Toggle Recoil

A specific adjustment of the upper cervical spine… the upper part of the neck, closest to the brain. This technique utilizes a side posture table with a cervical head piece which makes a slight drop when the adjustment is given.

MLS

Developed by my mentor Dr. Arno Burnier. It is an advanced technique that involves visulization, motion palpation, and advanced delicate adjusting.

MOTION ANALYSIS (PALPATION)

An examination procedure used to test the mobility of spinal joints by feeling for movement between the vertebra.

ACTIVATOR

It is a small had held impact tool in which a quick impulse is applied to correct a vertebral mis-alignment according to a set pattern.

LOGAN

A non-force technique taught by Logan Chiropractic College, which utilizes a soft steady pressure on ligaments around the tail bone for release of tension and vertebral mis-alignments in the lower back.

In Part 1, Dr. Jeremy Brook guides you through a full body lubrication sequence to optimize performance and minimize stress and strain. Emphasis is placed on creating movement in all the of the major joints of the body.

“After you have received your specific, scientific, chiropractic adjustment, it is necessary to FIRST move with intelligence….then stretch….then strengthen….and then ENERGIZE!” says Dr. Jeremy Brook.

Although the video is roughly 18 minutes, the entire routine can be completed in half that time.

Watch this video to bring your awareness to a zone of the spine that has tremendous biomechanical, neurological, and energetic properties and potential when properly aligned… I’m talking about the lumbo-sacral region which is remarkably designed.

How do you create optimal alignment and flow in this area? First get a chiropractic adjustment to this area you fee up the bones, the joints, and the discs of this intricate area.

After the adjustment do cannon balls, side bends, and rotations to lubricate the region and activate your innate intelligence. When you remove the interference your innate intelligence will create optimal internal organic alignment.

Throughout the day pay attention to the area right at the front of your sacrum to see which way your spine is tipping …forward or backward?
Don’t commit hari hari…. You know when the samurai ends his life with his kitara sword. This is the area of your power center….your solar plexus… Care for it well and you will be rewarded. Until we see you in person…stand tall my friend!!

If you’re looking for reasons not to visit a chiropractor, here are eight of them!

1.) You don’t have a spine. If you’re born sans spine, there’s really no need to worry about spinal degeneration, is there?

2.) If you can’t see it, it must be fine. Skin, eyes, hair, teeth… These front-facing body parts are important because other people can see them. If a healthy spine was really that important, it wouldn’t be in the back.

3.) You love taking medication. Taking risks makes life more enjoyable! Dizziness, headaches, dry mouth, constipation, seizures, cancer, death… What’s not to like about side effects?

4.) Your insurance doesn’t pay for it. Money is for important stuff like Netflix, cigarettes, and gambling. If your insurance plan doesn’t cover it, maybe chiropractic care just isn’t necessary?

5.) They don’t prescribe drugs. Why would you want to go to a doctor who doesn’t think you need another prescription? (See #3.)

6.) They think lifestyle “stress” can make you sick. Apparently they’re not aware of bad genes. Everybody knows you only get sick because certain diseases just run in the family.

7.) They expect you to do stuff at home. They want you to make time for rest, exercise, and stretching. On top of that, they think you should change your diet. Evidently they don’t understand how busy you are…

8.) Besides, you’re impervious to mistakes. You eat just fine, and there’s nothing wrong with the way you’re living. Even if your “habits” are making you gain weight and age prematurely, that’s none of the doctor’s business! Their job is to get you out of pain so you can get back to doing the things that brought you there in the first place.

You walk into your Chiropractor’s office, hop on a table and point to where it hurts… expecting to get adjusted right in that very spot. But the Chiropractor starts working on a totally different part of your spine, not even close to where you feel the pain. Why is that?

Chiropractors recognize that if you remove the cause of someone’s symptom, the body will no longer have a need to produce it. That’s why the main focus of a Chiropractic visit is to locate and correct the underlying problem, and not the superficial effect. Chasing after symptoms is like a dog chasing after its own tail. You only end up spinning around and around until you get dizzy, confused and frustrated. It’s much smarter to address the underlying cause.

There’s an old saying that goes when you step on a dog’s tail, it barks out the other end. In Chiropractic that means, where you hurt (the bark) isn’t necessarily where the problem is (the tail). Many times the pain you feel in one area is actually a referred symptom from somewhere else. For example, someone with sciatica may feel pain down their leg, but the source of their problem is a Subluxation (vertebral misalignment) in their spine.

If you’re considering visiting a chiropractor for the first time, you’re probably wondering what type of results you can expect. Having realistic expectations is important.

Your chiropractor’s explanation of chiropractic and why it’s being recommended can play an important role in your satisfaction with the care you receive. Your experience will be enhanced by a thorough understanding of the service itself.

Don’t mistake chiropractic care for medical treatment. Chiropractors are not intended to replace medical physicians.

Medicine treats sickness. Chiropractic promotes health.

At first glance, it may seem trivial… but there’s a stark contrast between the two.

The medical objective is: “We don’t want you to be sick.”

The Chiropractic objective is: “We want you to be healthy.”

Not being sick is very different than actually being healthy. The intent behind your chiropractic care is to enhance your health, not simply treat sickness.

What is a Subluxation?

Spinal misalignments or subluxations are typically caused by stress that overwhelms the body’s resilience and coping ability. Physical stress can occur as the result of a car accident or slipping on an icy sidewalk, improper posture, occupational trauma, or birth trauma. Emotional stress can be the result of significant emotional trauma or the inability to adapt to a stressful situation. Chemical trauma can result from the misuse of prescription or illicit drugs, inadequate nutrition, or environmental toxins. By interfering with the nervous system, these misalignments interfere with normal function, reducing your body’s ability to self-regulate, adapt, and heal.

Chiropractors detect and correct the cause of this interference, allowing your body to properly self-regulate, adapt and heal. The care and maintenance of the spine and nervous system is a necessary component of any natural approach to healthcare.

If you begin chiropractic care with this understanding, you’ll appreciate the experience much more.

This begins with a complete case and thorough examination. Special attention is given to the structure and function of the spine, and its affect on the nervous system.

Is the proper spinal curve present?

Are the nerve openings between each pair of spinal bones free and clear?

Is the head balanced?

Are the shoulders level?

These and other considerations are used to create a plan of specific chiropractic adjustments to help improve the motion and position of spinal vertebrae.

With improved structure and function, neck pain often diminishes or totally disappears without addictive drugs or harmful side effects! One study, published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that patients who received chiropractic care reported significant improvement in their neck function and a reduction in their neck pain whereas those taking pain-killers did not.

A COMMON HEALTH COMPLAINT

Is it hard to look over your shoulder?
Is there a constant pulling or throbbing pain in your neck?
Do you notice a “grinding” sound as you turn your head?

The Vertebral Subluxation Complex is the underlying cause of many health problems.

Vertebral

Ver-te-bral
Concerning the vertebral bones of the spine.

Subluxation

Sub-lux-a-tion
Less than a complete dislocation of a joint with nervous system interference

Complex

Com-plex
More than one part

Nervous System Function

When there is no interference, your nervous system controls the healthy function of virtually every cell, tissue, organ, and system of your body.

A subluxation, or the Vertebral Subluxation Complex, is a serious condition identified by its five parts:

* Abnormal motion or position of spinal bones:

(Spinal Kinesiopathology) The bones of the spine have lost their normal motion and position. This can restrict your ability to turn and bend. It sets in motion the other four components.

* Abnormal nervous system function:

(Neuropathophysiology) Improper spinal function can choke, stretch, or irritate delicate nerve tissue. The resulting nervous system dysfunction can cause symptoms elsewhere in the body

* Abnormal muscle function:

(Myopathology) Muscles supporting the spine can weaken, atrophy, or become tight and go into spasm.. The resulting scar tissue can change muscle tone, requiring repeated spinal adjustments.

* Abnormal soft tissue function:

(Histopathology) A rise in temperature from an increase in blood or lymph supply can result in swelling and inflammation.. Discs can bulge, herniate, tear; or degenerate. Other soft tissues may suffer permanent damage.

* Abnormal function of the spine and body:

(Pathophysiology) Bone spurs and other abnormal bony growths attempt to fuse malfunctioning spinal joints.. This spinal decay, scar tissue, and long-term nerve dysfunction can cause other systems of the body to fail.

What’s the cause?

Subluxation, or more precisely, the Vertebral subluxation Complex, describes what happens when spinal bones lose their normal motion or position from stress, trauma or chemical imbalances. Automobile collisions, improper lifting, drugs, alcohol, emotional stress, chemical imbalances, and long periods of sitting can all cause the Vertebral subluxation Complex. Instead of just treating your symptoms, your chiropractor is primarily interested in detecting, reducing, and correcting the Vertebral subluxation Complex.
